Update on the Heating System

The churchwardens and PCC have been working hard to fix the problem with the church and hall central heating system which has totally failed. Several quotes for replacement of the boilers and fan heaters have been sought from specialist firms to ensure that we get the right system.

Needless to say, the costs of replacing the heating are substantial - at least £27,000 and possibly as much as £30,000. We can meet some of the cost from our existing funds and will be looking to see if there are any grants available. If anyone wishes to make a donation towards the costs we would be extremely grateful. Contributions may be made through the Parish Office (Sarah Clarke, 681 1940) and any donation that is Gift-Aided will be increased by the tax recovery.

We do apologise for the delay but it is inevitable, given that our church is a listed building and any work planned has to be approved by the Diocese under church law. We have looked into temporary solutions for heating because the weather will be getting colder in the weeks before the work starts. We hope to obtain some portable heaters that can be used in church and in the hall so that the congregation and hall users can carry on in more comfort.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Maggie Davies, PCC Secretary
